Fire sweeps through Brentwood apartment complex

BRENTWOOD, MO (KTVI)- Scary moments overnight at a Brentwood apartment complex after a fire forces one of the buildings to be evacuated. According to Brentwood Fire Chief Ted Jury, the fire started about 2:30a.m. on the deck of a second story unit at the Brentwood Forest Condos near Eager Road. Crews were able to get the fire out quickly. The flames were contained to just  one unit.

As a precaution, crews evacuated all eight apartments in the building where the fire began.

Residents were allowed back into their apartments shortly before 5a.m.

No one was injured.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation although Chief Jury says nothing suspicious is suspected.
