(KPLR) - A hot and humid Sunday is on tap for the region with the warmest weather so far this year. High temps should make it into the lower 90s with a gusty wind from the south/southwest.
A slow-moving front will team up with a very unstable atmosphere late this Sunday afternoon and into tonight to produce a large area of showers and thunderstorms that will start from between Kansas City and Quincy by mid-afternoon. These storms will then slowly settle south into the FOX 2 viewing area late this afternoon and into the evening with severe storms possible.
At this point the primary threat will be pockets of damaging wind gusts, some large hail and flash flooding.
