National Weather Service confirms tornado hit Carrollton IL

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – The National Weather Service has confirmed that Friday night’s storm that struck Carrollton, IL was a tornado in the EF-0 to EF-1 range. The tornado formed and dissipated so quickly that it was not detectable on radar.

It’s estimated that the tornado had peak winds of 104 mph and left a path of damage 4.5 miles long, and 200 yards wide.

Residents of the city have been cleaning up debris from roofs torn off, downed trees and limbs since the storm.
