Police: Fake bomb scare called in at Collinsville bank

COLLINSVILLE, IL (KPLR) – Detectives with the Collinsville Police Department are working to determine the origin of the bomb threat.

According to Major Richard Wittenauer, a police spokesman, a person working at the First Collinsville Bank received a phone call just after 1:35 p.m. Thursday. The person making the call allegedly told the bank employee that there was a bomb on the premises.

The Collinsville Police Department responded and immediately began to search the area for any explosive devices. No explosive devices were ever located.
