(KPLR) - The band of rain and thunderstorms continues to get closer to St. Louis. As of now no severe weather has occurred in the St. Louis area. The storms will have gusty winds, heavy rain and lightning associated with these storms.
Counties under a Tornado Watch will be dropped as the line of storms moves east, with all warning cancelled by 8pm at the latest.
However, as the line crosses the Mississippi River it will encounter somewhat more favorable instability and a slightly higher risk of damaging wind gusts and possibly a very brief small tornado..
