Thieves break into student’s cars in the Central West End

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Central west end business owners are on high alert after thieves hit an art center. It all happened last Thursday when a group of Washington University students were taking an art glass making class. That’s when the bold driver of a stolen gray minivan rolled into the parking lot at the 5200 block of Delmar around 8:30pm. Soon after thieves stole a black 2009 Ford Fusion and broke into 6 cars. They took everything from laptops to tools and electronics. Thieves also left the stolen van they rode in running for police. Employees at the 13-year-old business were shocked. Manager Rachel Mcalla says they haven't seen any crime in 2 years.
