Police arrest shoplifting suspect after officer was dragged by getaway vehicle

ST. LOUIS COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – A St. Louis County Police Officer was struck by a fleeing shoplifting suspect. County police tell FOX2 the officer was chasing a shoplifting suspect from JC Penny toward the St. Louis Bread Company near Lemay Ferry.

The suspect jumped into the bed of a pickup truck. The officer grabbed the suspect and tried to get him out of the truck, but the suspect grabbed him at the same time and the driver started moving.

The officer was dragged for a short time and finally got free of the suspect’s grip.

Another officer picked up the injured officer then stopped the two suspects.
