ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI)-Tom Schweich was on the mind of Missouri State Treasurer, Clint Zweifel, Friday during a visit to St. Louis. Zweifel addressed the leadership of the St. Louis Regional Chamber and other business and community leaders at their meeting downtown.

He pushed his new higher education proposal called “Missouri Promise” aimed at helping students go to college and helping families with those costs.

But he began his remarks by asking everyone to remember Schweich’s family as the spotlight fades.

“So as this media coverage surrounding Tom Schweich dies down I ask each of you to keep him and their family in your thoughts, reach out where practical, send a note. I think it’s often those times when things die down that is hardest for those families.”

Zweifel remembered Schweich as a fiercely independent auditor but also as a loving and proud father and husband.
