Dog rescued from icy pond

WRIGHT CITY, MO (KPLR) – Sunday the Wright City Fire Department was called out to rescue a dog that had become trapped in an icy pond.

It only took rescue personnel 10 minutes to arrive on scene.

Firefighters found the owners of the dog next to the pond trying to get their dog to come to them.

One rescuer was sent into the pond to retrieve the dog that was about 15 feet off shore.

It took rescuers about 15 minutes to break the ice and get the dog back to shore with its owners.

The dog was unharmed, except for shivering from the cold.
