I-44 reopened to traffic after Multi-vehicle accident is cleared

ROLLA, MO (KPLR) – The Missouri Highway Patrol says tractor-trailer crashed into the rear of a Greyhound bus on I-44 near Rolla, Missouri just after 2 pm Saturday afternoon. The accident on snow-covered road set-off a chain of accidents that involved dozens of vehicles. Police say 11 people were injured and sent to the hospital for minor to moderate injuries.

The westbound lanes of I-44 remain closed, as work crews are clearing the road of vehicle and cleaning up a flammable liquid from tractor-trailer.

Shortly before  9 pm Sunday night, MoDOT reopened all of the westbound lanes to I-44 to traffic.
