Study says drinking water with fluoride may lead to weight gain and depression
ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – Flouride in drinking water is good for your teeth. But, it may not be so good for your mental health.
A new study suggests drinking water with fluoride can wreck your thyroid, leading to weight gain and depression. Researchers found that areas with fluoride levels above .7 milligrams per liter of water had at least 30 percent more cases of under-active thyroid than other areas.
People with hypo-thyroidism don’t produce enough of certain hormones which can lead to weight gain and depression.
In the US the amount of fluoride in drinking water is .7 – 1.2 milligrams per liter.
