Baby Colobus monkey born at the Saint Louis Zoo

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - The St. Louis Zoo is announcing a new arrival. A male black and white Colobus monkey named Simon was born on Dec. 30, 2014.

His mother is a 16-year-old named Cecelia. Simon also has a 2-year-old sister named Kivuli. You can see the whole family at the primate house. Visitors will be able to see the newbord poking his head out.

A release from the St. Louis Zoo states, "Colobus infants are born with all white hair and a pink face. In contrast, adults are primarily black, with white hair encircling their faces and half of their tails. They have a distinctive mantle of long white hair extending from their shoulders around the edge of their backs. Infants will change gradually until they reach adult coloration at about 6 months."
