ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - New plans for an NFL stadium in St. Louis were revealed during a press conference Friday afternoon.

Governor Jay Nixon's task force  outlined the plans for the stadium that would be located on the Riverfront, north of the Lumiere Casino & Hotel in downtown St. Louis.

The announcement comes after Rams owner, Stan Kroenke, announced his plan to build a new stadium in Inglewood California.

"Kroenke is owner but this is OUR team! Keep going to games. We'll meet w Stan Kroenke when time is right," said David Peacock during the conference. "It can be a jewel and asset to our city."

Peacock says the new stadium would be a public asset, and would not require new tax burden on taxpayers.

A dual purpose stadium for soccer was also proposed.

City leaders say a new St. Louis facility could be home to another NFL team if the Rams go west.

Full video from the press conference will be available momentarily.
