Search for suspect in overnight homicide comes up empty handed

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)- St. Louis Police attempted to locate a wanted suspect Sunday morning at a home on Iowa Street in south St. Louis. SWAT team was called to the scene to enter the home, but no one was inside.

A Police spokesperson said the suspect in question was wanted in connection with an overnight homicide in the 4000 block of  DeTonty in south St. Louis. In that case, a Hispanic male was found lying in the street with gunshot wounds.

Police say the victim and suspect had been in the same vehicle arguing, when the suspect pulled out a gun and shot the victim in the chest.

The suspect is still at-large with police continuing to investigate the shooting.
