Standoff in Cahokia ends after 11 hours

CAHOKIA, IL (KPLR) – A standoff that last 11 hours in Cahokia Illinois has ended with the arrest of Lamar Armstrong. Armstrong was wanted for a home invasion when Sheriff’s deputies went to his home in the 2000 block of Lynn with a warrant for his arrest.

Armstrong refused to come out and tactical units were called in starting the standoff.

Police finally used a flash bang and tear gas to flush Armstrong out. He was found by officers hiding in a car trunk.

He was taken into custody and transported to the St. Clair County Jail.
