ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - The annual Guns N' Hoses fundraiser will be held on January 30th at Scottrade Center. The money raised will help families of first responders who have been killed in the line of duty.

For the 28th time officers and firefighters from the region will step into the boxing ring and go a few rounds while honoring their fallen brothers and sisters. Guns N' Hoses is usually held the night before Thanksgiving. This year organizers knew the unrest in Ferguson was keeping first responders busy, so the fundraiser was postponed. In the meantime, many restaurants have held fundraisers for the cause.

Backstoppers, Inc. is behind the fundraiser. The organization recently denied social media rumors that it was raising money for Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson. It emphasized that all money raised benefits families of fallen first responders. In fact, the organization said it would not accept any donations related to what happened in Ferguson.
