(KPLR) – General Motors is trying to get car owners to fix faulty ignition switches by offering them gift cards.

They are giving car owners $25 gift cards to a variety of stores, if they take their cars to get repaired by Dec. 1.

GM started recalling millions of vehicles nine months ago. They say only about half of the 2.6 million defective ignition switches have been fixed. The faulty ignitions have been tied to at least 29 deaths.
