The demonstrators shut down at least two stores for a time.
The Walmart Supercenter on Hanley Road is one of three locations where protesters came to make their voices heard. The demonstration alone was enough to shutdown that location overnight.
The store is normally opened 24/7 but was closed as a safety precaution.
Around 9p.m. Monday evening, nearly 150 Moral Monday protesters disrupted the stores operations. The demonstrators expressed their concerns over the case involving officer Darren Wilson, who shot and killed unarmed teenager Michael Brown.
They also yelled chants regarding the larger picture of social justice.
Six people were taken into custody.
After leaving that location around 9:30p.m., the group headed to the Walmart store on St. Charles Rock Road. Police there prevented protesters from entering that store, but store operations were disrupted.
Earlier that evening, the Walmart in Ferguson was occupied as well.
