It’s never too late to save for college

(KPLR) - Missouri Treasurer, Clint Zweifel, is touring the state to encourage families to start saving for their children's college education. September is college savings month. In honor of the occasion, a special contest is being held. MOST; Missouri`s 529 College Savings Plan has challenged K-5 grade students to draw a poster depicting what they want to be when the grow up. There is a big payoff to the competition. Four winners will receive contributions to MOST 529 accounts. 'As students are getting settled into the new school year, they should keep in mind ways to prepare for their future, including saving for higher education,' Treasurer Zweifel said. 'This is an important message for all young people to hear, and by reaching out to students and families we are hoping to start some of those conversations. Zweifel went on to say, "Individuals can set up a MOST 529 account with as little as $25, and it is an easy way to take a big first step toward saving for higher education.'
