(KPLR) - Monday morning's rain gave way to a sunny afternoon, but St. Louis is in store for more wet weather overnight. Strong to severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Monday evening and continue overnight. While there is the possibility of damaging winds and large hail, the biggest threat may be heavy rain. One to two inches of rain is likely with storms along and south of I-70 in Missouri and Illinois.

A Flash Flood Watch has been issued for most of the FOX 2/News 11 viewing area due to the threat of heavy rain overnight.

The storms should move off to the east by the time we reach the Tuesday morning commute.
