Turning old pay phones into a wifi network

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - I've always wondered what will happen with all these old pay phones.  There just doesn't seem to be a use for them anymore.  Just about everyone has access to a cell phone.  Even if you don't have one, you probably know someone who does.

Apparently Google has an idea with what to do with them in parts of New York.  The plan is to create a wifi network so people can have access to the Internet.

Now that's thinking.  Another project use old pay phones to create a sort of time capsule.  Visitors could pick up the phone an hear a recorded message of what was happening in that are in the 90's.

I like that idea too.  Anything would be better than this.

I'm JB and that's the way it oughta be.
