ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) - There was a very special celebration today at a well known St. Louis landmark. The Missouri Botanical Garden in South City marked the 214th birthday of its founder Henry Shaw. Admission to the garden was free all day and there were all kinds of special events. Everything from puppet performances to silhouette artists to a guy on stilts.
The 79 acre garden was originally Shaw`s country estate. In his will, he wanted the land to showcase garden exhibits. A Henry Shaw impersonator made an appearance, we spoke with him about the garden.
