The Milwaukee Brewers avoided a three game sweep at the hands of the Cardinals with a lopsided 11-2 win on Sunday in Wisconsin. The victory gives the Brewers a one game lead over the Cardinals as the All-Star break arrives. Carlos Martinez allowed four runs in four innings pitched and was tagged with the loss. Seth Maness and Jason Motte came on in relief for the Cards, but also allowed more runs to score.
Despite the loss, the Cardinals have made up considerable ground in the NL Central division race and go into the break trailing by just one game. Cards players are excited for the second half of the 2014 baseball season.
