St. Louis police officers ratify first contract with city

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - St. Louis police officers have ratified its first union contract with the City St. Louis.

The three-year-deal is the first contract the police union has negotiated with the city, since local control of the department was returned to the city from the state.

Union leaders are calling the new contract a "pleasant surprise." It covers wages, sick time, benefits and working conditions.

The St. Louis Airport Police Department is also included in the contract, as it is set to merge with St. Louis city.
