ST. LOUIS (KPLR) - Two St. Louis area women are part of a lawsuit challenging the state's cosmetology licensing process. The women specialize in African-American hair-braiding.

They say the state requires 1,500 hours of classes that can cost up to $1,600 for them to learn skills they will never use.

The women fear they could be fined or prosecuted for doing the braids without a license.
