(KPLR) - It was a nail biting night for the parents of a Chesterfield boy who made it into the finals of the annual Scripps National Spelling Bee.

13-year-old Gokul Venkatachalam is a seventh grader at Parkway West Middle School.  The past two years he  has been a semi-finalist in the competition. This year he came close, making it into the top three.
