Blues build rink to spur interest in street hockey

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – The Blues are trying to spur more interest in hockey through street hockey.

Friday, team employees worked to finish the first St. Louis Blues 14 Fund “Rink Of Dreams.” It’s a permanent street hockey rink for kids at the Mathews Dickey Boys and Girls Club.

The rink was donated in conjunction with Clayco. everyone from Louie the mascot to team chairman Tom Stillman were there to lend a hand. The Blues 14 fund honors the late Doug Wickenheiser, who died in 1999 after battling cancer.
