Bosnians in St. Louis helping with flood relief efforts

(KPLR) –  St. Louis is home to 70,000 Bosnian-Americans, the largest population the U.S.  They immigrated to St. Louis during and after the Bosnian War which lasted from 1992 – 1995.

So one of the largest flood relief efforts is underway here at the Bosnian Chamber of Commerce, 5039 Gravois near Bevo Mill.

They’re collecting donations weeknights 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.   Sejla Grahovic discussed the flood relief and her new book, “While You Played, I Ran,” the story of fleeing a war-torn Bosnia in 1998 to start a new life in St. Louis.
