Steelville man convicted of killing a man on float trip

STEELVILLE, MO (KPLR) – A jury has convicted a man of a shooting that has made national headlines. James Cocker of Steelville will go to prison for shooting and killing a man during a family float trip on the Meramec River in July 2013.

Cocker claimed that the float trip party was trespassing on his private property, and that the shooting followed a heated argument.
