St. Louis Police needed help from Streets Department crews when they responded to an odd accident scene around 6:15 a.m. Tuesday. They found a small sedan had crashed into a light pole on the rain-slicked Chippewa Street near Morganford Road . First reports sounded like a pretty common no-injury crash. But, workers had to find some way to remove the light pole because it was still standing in the front end of the car a few hundred feet from where it was installed.
Police shut down one lane as crews worked out a plan to safely remove the pole and the vehicle.
