CREVE COEUR, MO (KPLR) – The Creve Coeur city council will vote Monday night on a bill that critics say will hurt free speech if passed. An ordinance would ban pedestrians from medians, except when someone is actively crossing a street.

The police department cites issues with protesters outside Monsanto’s global headquarters on Olive Boulevard. The protestors use medians to demonstrate and hand out materials.

Those activists say police can use existing laws to ensure safety and that the bill would have a chilling effect on protesters.
