5K walk benefits Filipino victims of Hurricane Haiyan

MARYLAND HEIGHTS, MO (KPLR) – Saturday St. Louis residents gathered at the Taco Bell shelter in Creve Coeur Lake Memorial Park for a 5K walk to benefit Filipino victims of Hurricane Haiyan that struck the Philippines on November 8, 2013.

Today’s walk was sponsored by Gawad Kalinga and associated Filipino organizations.

Money raised from the walk will go to help still ongoing relief efforts, rebuilding homes and providing resident with equipment to restart their lives.
