Activists to protest Peabody Coal shareholder’s meeting

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) - A group of activists are protesting against Peabody Coal on Thursday.

They're picketing outside the company's annual shareholder's meeting at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Clayton. They're upset about tax breaks for fossil fuel companies like Peabody, among other issues.

The United Mine Workers Union are not part of the protests. They reached a deal with the company last year over health care benefits for retirees of Patriot Coal.
