Former Boy Scout leader get 5 years for coercing a minor for sex

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) –  A St. Charles County man who pleaded guilty to charges that he enticed a minor for sexual acts is going to spend the next five years in prison.

Michael Engler, a former Boy Scout leader, was sentenced Wednesday morning.  In October 2013, Engler was caught in a FBI sting when he asked an an undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old child to meet him in Brentwood for sex.

Court documents say he told the undercover officer he would teach him about oral sex.  Engler was arrested October 16 when he showed up at the ice rink where he was supposed to meet the 14-year-old.

Engler pleaded guilty in January.
