Sexual assault in St. Charles prompts Lindenwood U. alert

ST. CHARLES, MO (KTVI) - St. Charles police say a Lindenwood University student reported a man forced his way into her apartment and sexually assaulted her. The complex is about three miles from the Lindenwood Campus.

St. Charles police responded to the Time Centre apartments shortly before 4am on Thursday. A 22-year-old woman said a man broke into her apartment and sexually assaulted her and the fled the scene. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Several Lindenwood students live in the Time Centre complex. They were shocked to learn of the assault.

Apartment management said it is emailing residents to make them aware of the crime. Lindenwood University was quick to send out alerts to students.

At this point police have not released a detailed description of the suspect.

    I’m sorry to hear about this assault. What is the building doing to protect the women who live there? They should consider getting a security system installed asap. Dead bolt locks are also a good idea provided the door jam is re-enforced.
