SPRINGFIELD, IL (KTVI) – Students from across Illinois also plan to rally this afternoon in Springfield. They’ll join Governor Pat Quinn at the statehouse to ask legislators to double the state’s investment in the “MAP” or monetary award program. The program grants money to pay for school. Funds do not need to be re-paid.

Doubling the money would allow an additional 20,000 students access to financial aid.
