(KPLR) – Bans on selfies are starting to pop up and the latest comes from two universities that ask graduates to please keep the smart phones off the stage.

Bryant University in Rhode Island asked seniors this year to avoid taking selfies while on stage getting their diplomas.

A sorority at the University of Alabama has also asked students to restrain themselves.

Schools must get through a lot of students in the ceremony, and students taking pictures while on stage can back up the proceedings.

Many people have pointed out that students will still have lots of fun and make lasting memories during graduation. Besides, after a whole day of posing for pictures for every relative and that neighbor who showed up for some reason, that selfie will not seem that important, and your face will still ache from endless posing for pictures.
