Jefferson County seeking language volunteer translators

JEFFERSON COUNTY, MO (KPLR) – The Jefferson County Sheriff’s office is seeking volunteer language translators willing to be on call when the Jefferson County Sheriff’s department is in need of a translator. The sheriff’s office says the need for translators as the county’s population is becoming more diverse.

All languages are being considered, but the following languages are in particular need:
Spanish, Bosnian, Serbian, French, German, Russian, Arabic, and Chinese dialects.

The list of volunteers will only be kept at the sheriff’s office, and with 911 officers.

A background check will be required on all applicants.
