ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – St. Louis will host one of the qualifying rounds for the annual Nathan’s hot dog eating contest this year. Every year, the top competitive eaters get to chow down before a national TV audience on the Fourth of July in New York City to see who can eat the most hot dog in ten minutes.
The St. Louis contest will be May 17th at Busch stadium, before a Cardinals game.
The top male and female finishers will earn a spot in the national finals in New York.
Joey Chestnut set the world record last year eating 69 hot dogs and buns.
