(KPLR)– A Missouri House Committee begins hearings Tuesday on changing how the state deals with failing school districts.

Under the bill passed by the Missouri senate in February students attending a struggling school could transfer to a better one within their home district.

If they cannot get into a higher performing school within their district then students may transfer to another district.

In those cases the unaccredited district would pay for some of the tuition.
