Illinois State Police to run seat belt and safety checks in April

COLLINSVILLE, IL (KTVI) – The Illinois State Police will be running both seat belt and roadside safety check in Madison, and/or St. Clair County for the month of April. Officials hope by running safety checks in April, drivers on Illinois roads will be mindful of how they are driving on the states roads.

During April officers will be patrolling, and watching motorist for seat belt violations, along with making sure state roads are clear of drivers consuming alcohol and driving or impaired by drug use.

Every year alcohol and drug impairment, are a major factor in over 40% for all fatal accidents on Illinois roads.

If plan on drinking and driving or using drugs and driving, officers will be out to stop you and arrest you.
