Rain, snow and cold weather moving into St. Louis area

ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – It may not be the polar vortex, but the northwest flow will continue to pump in well below normal temperatures through mid-week.

A "Clipper" system will zip down in that flow Monday with increasing clouds. A mix of rain and snow will overspread our northern counties from mid to late afternoon with a winter mix arriving in St. Louis by 6 pm. It should start as rain, but transition to wet snow before ending.

Accumulations, if any, will be confined to grassy surfaces and will be limited to a light coating.

The pattern begins to change after Wednesday. I'll update our Clipper system and the late week warm-up tonight on News 11 at 7pm, and then again on Fox 2 News at 9 pm and 10 pm.
