NORMANDY, MO (KTVI)– Seventh grade Normandy students took to the streets during the lunch hour Thursday to show their support for their school district.
Normandy is fighting to stay in operation after it lost state accreditation.
Heavy tuition bills for students who were allowed to transfer to accredited districts have depleted Normandy’s resources.
The seventh graders have been studying the civil rights movement and wanted to speak out to the community.
They will also be required to write essays about Thursday’s experience.
