Lottery Winners Build Grocery Store

Lotto winners build grocery

BONDURANT, IA (WHO) — In just a few short weeks, people in Bondurant won’t have to leave town to get their groceries.

A new grocery store called Brick Street Market and Cafe will be open for business by the first week of April.

The store is owned by Brian and Mary Loese.

In 2012, the couple won a $202 million Powerball jackpot.

It’s their second major project in the town of 4.000 along with a new high school football stadium set to open in the fall.

“Having a store that’s within walking distance for some people and a short driving distance for others is a major step for a community that’s growing,” said Brian Loese, the co-owner.
The store will employ about 60 people from around the area.

It cost about $4.5 million to build.
