Illinois proposal to fine drivers $100 for smoking with kids passes Senate panel

SPRINGFIELD, IL (KTVI) – An Illinois senate panel passed a proposal to ban drivers from smoking in cars with children. If caught, you could pay a fine up to a $100.

Lawmakers say they’re trying to protect kids from the dangers of second-hand smoke. The proposal now goes to the full senate for further debate.
