New EPA regulations could mean higher gas prices

ST. LOUIS, MO (KTVI) – New federal rules aimed at helping you breathe easier could have you paying more at the pump.

The EPA announcing new emission standards to cut pollution from gasoline. The new rules require sulfur be removed from gasoline. Refinery and oil companies say the move will increase their costs and cause gas prices to go up by nearly 10-cents a gallon.

The new emission rules take effect in 2017.
