East St. Louis middle school dismissed early after fire

EAST ST. LOUIS, IL (KTVI) – Students at a Metro East middle school are being dismissed Wednesday morning due to a fire that broke out before students arrived at Lincoln Middle School in the seventh grade wing.

The fire damaged property and filled the wing with smoke.

All students are being dismissedand those receiving bus transportation will be arriving home by bus.

Police are investigating what caused the fireand more information will be posted on the school’s website.

Parents will receive an automated call Wednesday evening regarding plans for classes Thursday.
