Mardi Gras Grand Parade is St. Louis’ biggest party

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR)-The Mardi Gras Grand Parade is here. The area’s biggest celebration steps off at 11:00am Saturday with floats, bands, and tons of beads! The route runs from roughly Busch Stadium to the Anheuser Busch Brewery. The weather will cooperate, with the expected winter storm holding off until after the big celebration.

It is all part of the nation’s second largest Mardi Gras celebration and it is right here in St. Louis. The Regional Chamber and Growth Association estimated the festival’s economic boom to the area at over $23 million.

This year special Mardi Gras flags will be sold during the celebration.

The party will go on, of course, after the parade and includes two free concerts. “Eve Six” performs at 2 p.m. and “Everclear” performs at 3:30 p.m.

Organizers remind: cans, coolers, bottles and backpacks won’t be allowed. You can bring your own drinks, as long as they are in an open plastic cup.
