ST. LOUIS (KPLR) – Crews rushed to fix a water-main break in Midtown, and in sub-freezing temperatures.
Workers and equipment were on Washington Avenue at North Leonard Avenue by 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Water bubbled from the middle of the street near Grand Center and St. Louis University.
It only took minutes for heavy equipment to block all lanes of Washington. But, it took a while for repairs to start, while workers waited for utility crews to locate gas, sewer and electric lines so water department technicians could dig safely.
Drivers should avoid the area and leave early for work and school.
