This winter’s Polar Vortex may mean fewer stink bugs

ST. LOUIS, MO (KPLR) – Thursday and Friday were much warmer than we’ve seen in the past six weeks. The upside to all that cold weather is smelling fewer stink bugs this Spring.

Prolonged blasts of Arctic air last month and earlier this month proved too much for most stinkbugs to overcome. These hardy bugs have anti-freeze proteins in their bodies to help them wait out the winter.

But, this year’s Polar Vortex was just too much.
